I wasn't feeling good yesterday. It is just a quite day at the hall today. There is a foursome playing pool and a foursome playing dominoes. Two Ladies besides me on thier computers. Mostly a quite crew. I had a few more pictures of the golf carts I thought I'd post for your enjoyment.
This set a pictures are a little closer shots so you can see the decorations just a little better. It was really fun but think it would have been better a little later when it was just about dark so you could see the lights.
Th dominoe game is growing a crowd winners play the spares. My dad gets in these games most days but he's not up here today.
Flowers are starting to bloom here in the park. Orange trees really smell so sweet this year. Our oranges weren't very good this year. Lots of wind burn. My limon tree has a bad blight and think it is a goner. I have tried lots of things on it but it comes back for a season then the next it goes down hill.
I haven't had a chance to be on for quite some time. We really had a wonderful Christmas and New Years was quite and uneventful. The retirement park I live in had a golf cart/bike parade it was fun we only had about 5 or 6 grandkids in the whole park but it was great fun. Here are a few pictures my daughter took.
please take some time a click on the pictures you will see some cute decorations. We had some great fun I was a passanger with one of my grandsons, and a great nephew.
We all survived Thanksgiving the Turkey was a little dry but not bad, dressing turned out good(tried all new receipes this year)
The boys were tired and Hungrey by the time we ate but they did fine. My daughter started bitching at he husband before anyone else got there but I threated to pack everything up and leave and she calmed down and actually behaved the rest of the day.
The photos I am adding today are some of the kids and some of the building outside Union Station in Chicago. Hope you enjoy them.
Hello everyone,
I don't have internet at home right now so I don't get to post very often. Today I am at my husband's place so thought I just write a little something while I am here. Everything is going fine trying to get ready for thanksgiving and Christmas both and finding that this year is going to be a tough year for all. Money is so tight. I bought a digital picture frame for my mother and hope to download some of the pictures from New York of the Kids on it. If I can figure it out if I can just figure out how to do the down load. The kids will get a good toy but only one for each and maybe a new outfit. I usually buy myself something and say it is from my husband but this year I have to pinch every penny. I really wanted to get a Zoom lens for my camara or a tripod. Think I might get the tripod from my mom and dad if I metion it to them.
Aiden is getting so big as is Kayden I got holloween pictures from Colorado today. They were so cute I couldn't help but giggle. Kayden was a hunny pot. His mother is a big Winny the pooh fan and they ordered the costume on line. It even had a couple of bees zooming arround the lid which was the hat. Just too cute.
I will try and add some new pictures next week. Orville's computer doesn't have the right software on it.
I started a blog a week ago and some how lost it, oh well I'll try again. The Trip home was fine till I got to San Antonio where I nearlly wittnessed a murder. I had an 8 hour lay over and decided to go for a short walk around the train station I stumbled upon a car sitting in the middle of the road and something laying next to the open drivers side door. Turn out to be the body of a woman that had been shoot three times. Police were just driving up I decided just to sit down and stay out of the way. The bus that was to pick me up was delayed by nearly 1/2 hour and had to drag my suitcases up the block because they still had the street blocked off. Just really glad to be home.
Everyone here is so stressed out. I just can't believe how these people would get along if I were to be gone for the whole summer. I love my family but there are times that I wish they would just quite depending on me for everything. I really enjoyed my trip to New York and the kids are really great fun but it is nice to be back in my own place again.
I posted a few pictures from New York last week. I have a few pictures I took the last day I was there of some of the building we would drive by to and from the new house we were working on. Nothing really exciting but hope you enjoy them.
It is another year gone by and it is still hard to believe I was standing there in the break room in disbelief as I watched the towers start to fall. I was woprking in a government office and we went into a lock down mode very quickly then the news came in that the pentagon had been hit and it was hit directly were the transportation office was. There were peope in our office that new several people who worked there one was the mother of two young children.(She parished in the blast.) There were very many difficult days to follow. Less then a year later our office was hit hard by cancer. My best friend Linda was diagnosed with inopperble cancer and a young man 34 years old had liver cancer, again they could only treat it not cure it. Steve would only live a three months Linda lasted just over a year. She died just days before her 60th birthday. Things in my own life were all turning upside down and cooping was imposible. I retired that year. I would have nightmares about going back to work and even now there are days that I just get very low.
Today was not a bad day. I said goodbye to my DIL's Grandmother and possibly her mom.(I may see her again tomorow before I leave.) I slept late today but feel much better tonight. I called and spoke to my Dad and he said the hurican is going north of us so should be ok to come home as planned. I will get into San Antonio Sunday night and home sometime Monday morning, if all goes well. (I hate going through San Antonio, I got stuck there last year and was bumped off 2 busses before I finally was able to get on one.)
I told my daughter that I would need at least 2 or 3 days of rest before I start babysitting again. She told me "no problem" but we shall see what we shall see. I do miss the boys but just need to get a little rest after 3 days of traveling.
This will be my last blog until I am home.
The three wild ones in a rare moment.(standing outside the Church)
Daniel very flustered: Not enough setting for the family at reseption dinner
Wes checking out the crowd
Bryce getting ready for his escape
Brenna with her mothers flowers. Going around telling everyone that she is a princess. and she really was. She danced with anyone and everyone
additional flowers just for fun
I have been planning on posting these pictures for a while to show what I have been working on for the last month and a half. I only work on it a couple hours 2 to three times a week. The wall patch picture number one is finished now as is the ceiling patch in picture number 4. All two coats of sealeant and color. The patch in picture number 2 and 4 is the way I found the ceiling, some guy had started to patch it and left the mess behind. Picture number three shows our underpaid help Wes Lee age 4 painting his sisters room pink. (We will need to watch the child labor laws and make sure they don't come after us.) (=: Number 5 is the hole in the ceiling that I am currently working on. It was roughly 4foot by 2 foot, the closet was one complete wall(no pictures of closet). Lots of work but is finally coming down to a close. I have patched some other small areas but these large patches require a lot of work and time to dry but should have them done by the time I leave. I had hoped to help them move at least some of the stuff in but time is getting short so we will see. The house is around 100 years old so there is a lot of TLC required but think that it will work fine for them till they can actually look for a place to buy.
on Christmas parade for the Old foggies.
